Terms of Service

RouterBus is operated from the State of Wyoming, United States. These terms are the agreement between you and RouterBus ("we", "us") for use of the API relay and the console at routerbus.com. By creating an account or sending a request through the service, you accept them.

1. What the service is

RouterBus is an API relay. You send a request to one base URL with your own RouterBus API key, we forward it to an upstream model provider, and we return the response and record what it cost.

• The endpoint is the standard OpenAI-format POST /v1/chat/completions. GET /v1/models lists what your key can reach.
• We do not train, host or operate the models themselves. They belong to the upstream provider.
• The set of available models changes. Upstream providers add, rename and withdraw models, and when that happens a model can stop working with no notice from us. Model Square always shows what is reachable now; treat it, not this page or any other document, as the list.

2. Eligibility and your account

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract.
• Registration requires an email address you control; we send a verification code to it and the account is not usable until it is confirmed.
• You are responsible for everything done with your account and your API keys, including by anyone you give them to. Keys are bearer credentials: anyone holding one can spend your balance.
• Do not share, resell, sublicense or transfer your account or your keys. Do not register multiple accounts to obtain promotional credit more than once.
• Enable two-factor authentication if the account holds a balance you care about. It is available under Security & Access.

3. Acceptable use

Your use must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these terms, and with the upstream provider's own policies — a request we forward is also subject to them. We may suspend or close an account that breaches either.

4. Credit, prices and billing

• The service is prepaid. You add credit, and each request draws from it. There is no subscription, no seat fee and no monthly minimum.
• Credit is denominated in US dollars and is not a deposit, not a security, not transferable, and earns no interest.
• Every request is billed from the token counts the upstream provider reports: input tokens, output tokens, and cached input tokens at their own lower rate. Image models are billed on image tokens. The rate for each model is published in Model Square, which reads the same configuration the billing engine uses.
• Prices can change. We will not change a price retroactively — a request is billed at the rate in force when we receive it — but a rate that applies to future requests may be revised, and we will post the change in Model Square.
• A request that fails before the upstream provider processes it is not billed. A request the upstream provider bills us for is billed to you, including one you cancel mid-stream after tokens have been generated.
• Your usage log in the console is the record of account. Check it; if something there looks wrong, tell us within 30 days.

6. Availability

We aim to keep the service up and do not promise that it will be. There is no service level agreement, no uptime commitment and no credit for downtime. Planned maintenance is announced in the console where practical. An outage at an upstream provider, at our network provider, or on a blockchain used for payment, is outside our control.

7. Your content, and the model's output

• What you send stays yours. We use it only to perform the request, and we do not use it to train anything. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what we keep.
• Output comes from a third-party model. It may be wrong, outdated, offensive or confidently fabricated. We make no warranty about accuracy, fitness, originality or non-infringement, and we do not review it.
• You are responsible for what you do with output — including any professional, medical, legal or financial decision, any publication, and any onward distribution.
• Rights in output are determined by the upstream provider's terms, not by us. Identical prompts can produce identical output for different customers.

8. Suspension and termination

• You may close your account at any time from Security & Access. Closing it ends access immediately. See the Refund Policy for what happens to unused credit, and the Privacy Policy for what we retain.
• We may suspend or close an account for a breach of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, for suspected fraud or chargeback abuse, for activity that threatens the service or other customers, or where required by law. Where the reason allows it, we will say what the problem is and give you a chance to fix it.
• Credit is forfeited on closure for a serious breach. That is the only case in which we keep it.

9. Disclaimers and limits

• The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
• To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or business interruption, even if we were told they were possible.
• Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to it, or US$50, whichever is greater.
• Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these exclusions. Where that is so, they apply to you only as far as that jurisdiction permits.

10. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from your use of the service, your content, your output, your breach of these terms, or your infringement of anyone's rights.

11. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. A material change is announced in the console, by email, or both, before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance. If you do not accept a change, stop using the service and request a refund of unused credit under the Refund Policy.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Wyoming have exclusive jurisdiction, and you and we each consent to venue there. Nothing here removes a right you have under the mandatory consumer law of your own country of residence.

13. Miscellaneous

• If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stands.
• Not exercising a right is not waiving it.
• You may not assign this agreement; we may assign it in a merger or sale of the business.
• These terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the service.
